Spuriae iris are an often overlooked class of iris but are truly great garden plant.

Spuriae range in height from 6" to over 4'. They are sunloving iris and once established, drought tolerant. The taller ones, like I. orientalis, are butterfly and hummingbird magnets. Some of the shorter, like I. sintenisii, have evergreen foliage in temperate climates.

You cannot go wrong adding one of these species to your landscape or perennial bed.
