Somewhere between a Bearded iris and a Beardless iris you will find these Crested iris.
Rather than a beard or a signal, these have one or more ridges of petal material on the falls. Some are rather subtle, others quite striking. They range the whole gamut of cultural requirements. Our offerings this year are all shade loving and require regular water, but stay tuned. In future years we will have more varieties of these strange but wonderfuul members of the iris family.
